Dennis Barbour is Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of The Boys Initiative. An attorney with over 30 years’ experience in the nonprofit health field. he has served as a CEO and adviser to national and international organizations composed of physicians and other health care providers, patients, researchers, academicians and caregivers. His principal areas of expertise relate to organizational start-up, turnaround, and expansion as well as fundraising from the private and public sectors to support those efforts. He writes and speaks on issues related to the intersection of health and social justice.
Barbour served as the CEO of the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals for eight years, overseeing a period of significant and unparalleled organizational growth. Since then he has successfully served as a transition CEO and healthcare adviser to a number of health and medical organizations seeking revitalization and expansion, including those in the fields of primary care, dermatology, reproductive health, preventive medicine, HIV/AIDS, addiction, geriatric and end of life care.
Barbour attended Georgetown University and the Washington College of Law, where he graduated with a JD. He is a member of the DC Bar and is a certified association executive.
